Displays form colors by adding three light channels. An RGB triplet is incomplete without a specific RGB color space, such as sRGB, because different primaries and transfer functions produce different results.

EXAMPLE

In sRGB, 255, 255, 0 encodes display yellow by combining strong red and green channels.

COMMON CONFUSION

RGB values do not state which pigments or ratios will make the same appearance in paint.
